Freelance Researcher, Translator and Assistant, The Guardian and The Economist correspondents and the Time stringer based in Prague, Czech Republic, 1998 - 2002; set up interviews and reporting trips in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, interpreted interviews and documents from Czech to English, researched and investigated stories.

Freelance Journalist, Transitions Online, an English-language publication on post-communist Europe and Asia, September 2000 - May 2001; pitch, research, write and photograph stories on the Czech Republic and Slovakia.  

Reporter, Prima TV, the third largest Czech national TV station, 1999 - 2000; pitched, researched, produced and reported stories for local and national news shows. 

Program Assistant, the American Institute on Political and Economic Systems, an educational summer program in Prague, summers of 1996, 1997, 1999 and 2000; organized events, invited speakers, assisted students, translated from Czech to English. 

Assistant to the Executive Producer, Prima TV, 1996 - 1998; checked wires, produced headlines and graphics, assisted reporters.
